Mike’s Beginnings

From humble beginnings in small-town Pennsylvania, Mike Rowe climbed his way to stardom as host of Dirty Jobs, a show highlighting true-life occupations. Rowe talks about what inspired him to create Dirty Jobs and how he set out to find real people doing real jobs that no one else wants to do. He’s also the guy who host Somebody’s Gotta Do It and Six Degrees with Mike. And he’s worked on shows like Deadliest Catch and Life Below Zero as well.

Mike’s Bio

Mike began hosting his own show, Dirty Jobs on Discovery Channel in 2003. The show proved to be so popular that it has had two spinoffs: Mike’s American Story (2008) and Deadliest Catch (2005). He is currently working on a third spinoff, titled Somebody’s Gotta Do It, which will focus on hard-working men and women who risk their lives to make our lives better. However, he is mostly known for exposing viewers to jobs they would never think of doing themselves.
